Ghouls of Summerween Mixed Media Painting

This mixed media painting was created using acrylic paints on a canvas 18 by 24 inches. It shows all of our fun-loving Ghouls as they visit a beach at dusk.

We have 2 zombie girls, one is ready to trick or terror/treat and the second zombie is enjoying an eyeball Ice-cream cone. There are two mummies in the ocean. One is in a surfboard with a big Wave, while a youngster mummy is in a rowboat. Back on the beach in the lower right corner, we have Sand Monster. On the left side there’s a large palm tree with a bat in the leaves, cool coconuts and a jeweled spider crawling up the trunk. The base of the tree at the sand has glass rocks, shells, bones, skulls and dark flowers.

The last character is my favorite. Vinny the Vampire wanted to come so badly the time was moved to dusk. You know what happens to Vampires with sun… poof. Well, Vinny applied the heaviest vampire sunscreen, wore covering in black and brought his umbrella. Everything was aok until one sunbeam came through the dusky sky and found Vinny, moon-bathing. Vinny managed to get cover but not until all his clothing & skin went poof. Thankfully his sturdy old bones and trusted wings were saved.

On the piece you will see a cauldron complete with all kinds of goodies bubbling out. Between our 2 zombies you will see glass stones, real amethyst rocks shells bones and a large nettle with mother/of-pearl on its wings. All around this piece are glass rocks & stones, as well as shell, starfish, spiders and even faux candy. Across the top sky are tiny bats coming out for. Nights dinner.
